Big News
I’ve got a new hero: Lance Armstrong.
I found out today that I have testicular cancer and will be going under the knife sometime over the next few days. Life can takes a little turn and there you are. Fortunately it’s the good kind with survival rates around 95%. That’s almost a lock. I think it’s my big chance to finally figure everything out and have all kinds of perspective, which as you know has been my goal for some time. Also, going down to one testicle from the more traditional two will apparently introduce me to a new state of mellow. This will be interesting.
Luckily, I have Sheela who is the strongest person I know. With her, it will be easy. I’ve got my family all here too, my mom used to be a nurse so she has lots of tips to offer. My doctor friend Laura Goldman, (partners with my physician) was there today and sheparded me through all the paperwork and ultrasounds. I’m headed to Brigham tomorrow to get a second consult tomorrow. Surgery will either be tomorrow or Monday. Everything will move quickly now.
